Jeff Lindor is an institution builder, social entrepreneur and urban policy strategist whose work sits at the intersection of human development, economic mobility, public policy and community prosperity.
He is the founder and CEO of Gentlemen's Factory, which he founded in Brooklyn in 2016 as intentional community for Black and Brown men and is now leading into its next form: a human development institution built around structured cohorts, school partnerships, institutional and workforce programs, research and measurable outcomes. With the Black Dollar Initiative, Gentlemen's Factory built The Gentlemen's Agenda, a living data platform tracking Black men's economic mobility.
Before founding Gentlemen's Factory, Jeff worked across banking, healthcare and government. At EmblemHealth, as a Communications Strategist, he worked on the initial rollout of the Affordable Care Act in New York City. At the New York City Department of Correction, as Strategic Advisor to the Executive Staff, he advised leadership on Rikers Island reform initiatives. He has taught as an adjunct lecturer at the City University of New York, and he founded GroomedSuccess, an M/WBE-certified firm that provides mentoring, training and career coaching to young people under government contracts.
Jeff serves on the Board of Directors of the Public Housing Community Fund, as a Trustee of the Kingsborough Community College Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Business Insider, Black Enterprise and Yahoo Finance.
Born in Haiti, Jeff came to New York at age three and grew up in Coney Island, Brooklyn. He is a graduate of Kingsborough Community College and York College (CUNY) and holds a master's degree in urban policy from The New School. He lives in Brooklyn.
